GEOSEC UK will participate in the ILC Specialist Subsidence Conference 2026, which will take place on April 30, 2026, at the British Motor Museum in Gaydon. The event offers an opportunity to contribute directly to the debate around claims for subsidence or ground settlement. This is one of the most complex and rapidly evolving areas within the UK property insurance market. It brings together insurers, technical experts, suppliers, and claims management professionals to analyse how stronger information, better decision-making, and applied innovation can contribute to achieving better outcomes.
“It is a pleasure to participate in an event of this caliber and to be able to add value to the industry debate and present our vision, based on our more than 20 years of experience,” stated Marcos Leal, General Manager of Geosec UK.
In its fourth edition, the ILC Specialist Subsidence Conference has established itself as one of the main meeting points for the UK property claims sector concerning ground movement and foundation-related risks. The program brings together insurers, surveyors, engineers, and technical specialists to analyze the industry’s response to the increase in claims due to ground subsidence, the impact of recent episodes of higher activity, and the growing role of data in technical decision-making.
Confirmed participants include representatives from organizations such as Sedgwick, esure, Zurich, Allianz, Ageas, and Innovation Group. The sessions will address the use of satellite information, the development of analytical tools applied to risk, and the role of early technical interpretation in promoting more consistent decisions and more sustainable outcomes in claims management.
The participation of experts in this congress allows contributions to the technical debate on how best to integrate field research, its interpretation, and the selection of solutions from the initial stages to completion of the claim. As demands increase in terms of transparency, traceability, and proportionality in intervention strategies, these aspects become increasingly relevant in decision-making within the sector. GEOSEC UK’s approach is based on a structured process of ground engineering. This approach places feasibility analysis, on-site investigation, and technical interpretation in the forefront of intervention planning. This promotes the transition from models focused on temporary repair to an approach based on diagnosis of ground conditions prior to treatment. This adds longevity to the solution for both the policy holder and the insurer.
This model integrates in situ research, applied geophysics, geotechnical interpretation, and interventions using expansive resins and Groundfix micropiles (pushed rather than driven piles), selecting in each case the most appropriate response to the conditions detected.
In Europe, the GEOSEC group has developed interventions in various sectors. This includes residential, industrial, infrastructure, ports and heritage structures . This experience helps strengthen an approach based on provided solutions, technically justified and properly documented, aligned with the current demands of the British insurance market.
